    new castle indiana
    i have a friend from new castle that has made a few blades. he does a really nice job and is just getting into it for the most part. he has made a few out of 01 tool steel and needs some one to heat treat them. any leads on some one local or in the indy area? Prices maybe?

    You could look around for a heat treating co in the area I am sure. Prepare for sticker shock, as they price per the hour and job size. Local place in Fort Wayne, was 120.00 for 1-20 blades. I've always done my carbon steels in house.

    That's how much Peter's charges. The others would be more if you sent them 20 blades as they are usually around $10 a blade.

    I started sending things to Trugrit if I have less than ten I want done.
