Hey guys. I heat my home with fuel oil. I usually have a surplus in my savings to purchase heating fuel for the winter around this time of year. This year I do not. My fuel supplier requires a minimum purchase for delivery.
So I am going to take a few dollars every week and put some fuel in my tank. Maybe mid December we can fill it completely.
    My question is this:
Are Kerosene, #2 diesel fuel, and home heating fuel all the same thing? :dunno:

Close enough for horseshoes and hand grenades. Especially if you're in a pinch.

I wouldn't recommend making a habit of it though. Fuel Air mix is going to be a bit off. Not much, but some.

What do you transport it in?
I may just have to look into this myself.
I know that most heating fuel suppliers ad an Anti-gel additive for the minter fuel season (like there is another heating season)
My tank is underground so that is not neccessary for my application.

Off-road diesel is often considered a universal replacement for home heating oil. There were many times growing up I remember the fuel delivery lady (yep a lady delivering fuel) had off-road diesel in her tank from delivering to our farm as well and she just filled up our home heating oil tank with the same thing. We never had a problem all the years we ran the oil fired furnace for heat.
