Hello, New member from Northwest Indiana here, also new to handguns and carrying. I grew up on a farm shooting a shotgun and hunting with it. I have been browsing the site for a couple days before I joined, and I must say there is a lot of useful info here. I hope I can contribute some myself.

There are lots of get togethers to meet up with folks and talk guns here in NW Indiana. This Wednesday there is a LUNCH at the Pine Island Pit Stop Cigar Lounge. In fact every Wednesday there are typically a handful of INGO members who stop in the lounge to talk guns. Smoking cigars is OPTIONAL and there is no pressure to light one up. FREE LUNCH event => https://www.indianagunowners.com/fo..._at_pit_stop_smoke_shop_for_ingo_members.html

And the "Every Wednesday INGO Lunch" thread => https://www.indianagunowners.com/fo...ne_island_pit_stop_cigar_lounge_part_2_a.html

Also there is an "open carry" cigar night on January 27th in Cedar Lake. Again, cigars are optional. In fact carrying a gun is optional. But if you want to carry openly then this is a great event because you'll be surrounded by a couple dozen other people carrying openly. There is an upcoming "meet & eat" event, but the date is not yet set, it appears that it may be in early February and will either be held on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. LINK => https://www.indianagunowners.com/fo..._and_eat_-_1st_one_for_2011_-_vote_4_day.html

Keep checking the "events" page of the forum, we also meet up an do "group shoots" from March through November.

    Welcome to the group!

    :welcome:

There is a fair gun show in Crown Point fairly regularly. Would be worth the time since you are right there.
