I went to F1 and MotoGP races in Indy starting in 2001. Loved the town and readily available fireworks!
Local LEOs were very kind to us even when we were being less than smart. We mostly stayed in South Indy at a Motel 6 on Elmwood. Seemed like an industrial type hood but we always had a good time, hung out at KGs Pub.
