I just found out that these things exist, but can't find a lot of info. on them.
Is this another one of those things that came around and then just disappeared?

I found an article about them but it was dated 2013.
Are they still available?

Oh gosh, that brings back memories of days gone by when sellers of those things would have little TVs on their tables at gunshows showing how "great" they worked. They were pretty gimmicky even back then and didn't work very well from what I was told about them at the time. I would be surprised if they are still made, but then again the manufacturing cost has got to be small and people are always looking for gimmicks to blow money on...
