    Im just trying to figure out what this container use to be used for. I haven’t had much luck finding it online.

    There is a S&S Manufacturing in Katy Texas https://www.ssmfgco.com/about that appears it might be old enough to be the same company that manufactured the box in your picture. If it is they might have someone on staff that can ID it for you. Maybe.

    There's another S&S manufacturing in New Jersey, but it was started in 1985, so not old enough by a long shot.
