    hey all,
I finally went out to sight in the Mosin after mounting the scope.
However, I cannot seem to get it to hit paper no matter how close I get on the target.
The target and backstop fills the scope w/no hits at all.

I have read that a Mosin hits 2+ft high at 25-50 yards, but like I stated earlier, the target and stop fills the scope w/no hits.

I am shooting from a vice.
    Any ideas???

Pull the bolt out and point the rifle by looking through the bore and placing the target (I suggest 50 yards to start) in the center of the bore. Then without moving the rifle, adjust the scope to the same point on the target. This is called bore-sighting.

That should get you on paper and you can adjust from there.

Tried both bore sighting and firing w/bayonet.
If no other suggestion present themselves may need to try "point blank range" and "walk the rounds out",

I sighted in my 91/30 at 50 yards with a long eye relief scope by bore sighting it a few weeks ago, I may be able to help.

Are you using a replica PU sniper scope or a modern scope mounted in front of the magwell?

Modern scope mounted over rear sight.

Ok, I have the same setup. lmyer said it best already and that's how I got mine on paper. If all your screws are tight then I don't know what to suggest other than purchasing a cheap 7.62x54r laser bore sight to help you. There are a few on Amazon.com for less than $15 with shipping cost.
