    No LTCH required to carry on your own property. Some form of ID to prove you live there should be sufficient. I was once packing my pickup around 3am to go deer hunting. I was relatively new in the neighborhood. The neighbor across the street didn't know me yet, and thought maybe something fishy was going on and called the cops. The cops came, responding to a possible burglary. I was a bit surprised, but just told them "I live here". They asked for some ID, they were happy and left. My neighbor and I still laugh about that one, I'm glad they look out for my place!

    I'd show it, make friends with the cop, let him know he's always welcome and to keep an eye out if he ever sees anything going on with my house.

    I'd also let him know I'm normal, on his side, and he can disregard calls like this in the future.

    (But that'll probably make me the weird one on this board from what I've read here ;) )

    I am 100% with you, and would do the exact same thing.
