I was wondering how many of you hog hunt and what gun do you use? I'm down in Corpus Christi and I'm itching to get a chance to bag one. Anyone know of a good place down here to hunt or some tricks to hunt them?

I just built a 6.8 SPC to hog hunt with. Only been to Florida hunting so far. Going to try it out in two weeks!

Dang that looks mean. That would do the trick. I don't know what Florida's laws are but I've seen some guys with thermal scopes. Its like the Terminator.

My uncle goes hog hunting down in Texas, he uses his military .308. Seems to do the trick, he brings one home every year.

Yeah, I'm just going to end up using my Ishy Enfield. Nothing too serious but I think I can bag one with it.

I've killed them with. 243, .308, 30-06, .444 Marlin. Of all the rifles my preference is the. 308 with a Barnes TripleX 150 gr bullet sitting on top of 42.1 gr of Varget. I shot a 180 lb hog (last fall) and it left a massive would channel because the all copper bullet opens into four petals and spins and cuts its way through. Having a blood trail is hard to get with a hog, but a Barnes bullet will do that.

Them Barnes bullets are mean on pigs! A lot of guys love the Barnes 95 grain TTSX for the 6.8. I have some Barnes 110 TSX that I want to try.

Yep... I hunt exclusively with them. The weight retention is in the order of 98-99% due to the all copper design so they drive deep into the carcass without shedding a bunch weight.

Never done it before. But a Neighbor(Retired) goes every year to winter in Florida and he goes hog hunting with in the first couple weeks of getting down there and he swear's by his Rem. 700 in 30-06 !
