Here is how I do my mayo.

I'll change up the oils once in a while. Avocado is what I use most of the time but I do mix in bacon fat when I have it. Olive oil will work but gives it a strong taste. Walnut and cashew oils are awesome but expensive. Just don't use vegetable or seed oils.

tagging for future use. Thanks for sharing.

Yep. And like her, I save bacon grease for certain recipes like pan fried cornbread (cornmeal with a bit of bacon grease cut in, salt, and boiling water, fried in more grease in a cast iron skillet) and others.

Yes, I may die earlier than others, but dammit, I'll do so with a full belly and a smile on my face. :):

Eat all the lard, and bacon grease you want; it's the partially hydrogenated vegetable oil that will kill you.

Heart disease, and cancer weren't at epidemic levels back before procter and gamble invented that crap.

Sort of off topic, but if you want something really fun to make, especially with kids, try making homemade mozzarella cheese; it is amazing watching it go from a pile of curds to a firm ball of cheese right before your eyes.

Plenty of instructional videos about it on YouTube.

I have made some cheese in the past with raw goat's milk, and I know I have a recipe somewhere. I'll have to see if I can find my cheesemaking books.

I know I have bought starters and supplies here. cheesemaking

Bad news. Walnuts and cashews are both seeds.
