Amazing--and we are supposed to trust these same imbeciles with incredible amounts of unconstitutional authority and access to pry into our business which is supposed to be protected by the Fourth Amendment.

They aren't imbeciles, they are hamstrung by a series of administrations that don't want the illegal immigration issue solved. I was recruited fairly heavily by the Border Patrol when we did Joint Task Force as a military unit but didn't even consider applying. Even in the 90s I saw it as what had to be a frustrating job of catch and release. Given the proper authority and resources, the borders could be secured and the majority of illegals back on their side of the fence, but in a land where the prosecutor's rules are "must have at two felonies before we bother to deport" that ain't going to happen.

I'd prefer that tax dollars aren't spent "tracking" illegals. Obviously "they" don't want them gone or the system to accomplish that would be pretty easy. Any LE officer in the country comes into contact with someone in this country unlawfully, lock them up until DHS send a southbound bus to pick them up. Tracking them is a pointless waste of money.

Ah, but from what I have learned in the MSM you guys in blue never come in contact with them since they are all honest, hard working people that are just looking for a better life...

Oh yes! They are just hard-working people...who kill more Americans per year than have been killed in the entire duration of the Iraq/Afghanistan war.

:+1: I like your gift for addressing simple problems with simple solutions that would work perfectly in the absence of politicians. Unfortunately, the socialist rep system will not let me rep you for this.

You'd think. Instead when you call the ICE hotline for local LE (which is manned by non-sworn personnel, getting to talk to an actual LEO usually takes a few days) you get an ear full about how you're violating their rights because you don't know they are illegal. In context, he handed me a forged legal permanent resident card, admitted he was here illegally, and was under arrest for a couple of local charges. Yeah, I don't *know* he's illegal, but the admission and forged documents sorta shake out to at least probable cause.
