Other than that issue, I actually prefer Apple over Android for daily use.

    YMMV.

Not to start a peeing war, but I really don't get it. Apple keeps removing features from their products and increasing the prices. I don't understand how this is a business model getting so much support. No headphone jack and no expandable storage are just absolute deal killers for me. Non-removable battery is ALMOST in that arena too.

Guess the features, the interface, and the “it just works” model overcomes your legit beefs to the masses.

I like Ike androids too for different reasons. But when comparing the two my android has many more problems. (Crashes, lockups battery life, etc. )

Thanks for the link. It is on my wish list now.

If my old one doesn't get smoked I will stay with it. But now I have a choice.

Well, that's the one I bought.
Check out the different models and their features.
I picked that one because it had what I wanted.

    Bumpity!

I remembered this thread and wanted to see if Magellan had any updates for my old eXplorist GC. I think I bought it back in 2011. Tada! There's a firmware update dated June 2018. I hope it addresses this time rollover problem.

Problem is it has me looking at a newer handheld. I've never been a big fan of my GC. It's kind of a Geocaching only style of device. Fun but my family just won't go geocache with me ever. :(

This is the model I'm looking at for a replacement. GREAT price too! GPS plus GLONASS means it's a bit more obsolete proof.
[edit] oh what the hell. I need something newer to hike AK with in a few weeks anyway. Ordered the Garmin below.
