I know per the IC that you can not carry on a riverboat and the Horseshoe Casino (Hammond, IN) IS a riverboat casino. However does the IC also apply to the structure that is attached to the actual riverboat?

Say you are going to have dinner at the resturant located in the building where the roverboat docks. You are not going into the actual riverboat structure (ie. where the gambling is at) but just the building structure. Can you carry there legally? CC I would presume as I'm sure the casino (biz itself) may have policies against guns period.

    what a BS law.

im no lawyer, but the reason they have the actual casino on the water is because indiana law wont allow them on land, so that in my understanding would mean unless you are entering the part of the riverboat casino then you are ok and legal to carry in all other parts including the restaurant, hotel, etc. if im wrong you will know shortly, lol

I see no reason why it would be illegal. It is on land and not the boat. They just happen to be attached.

Remember, in Indiana a "riverboat" is not only the riverboat casino, but also a casino attached to an historic hotel. Not to be confused with casinos attached to horse tracks, which are different. Yeah, we are that screwed up around here.

Yes, you are good to go in the attached building, barring any other local ordinances or policies. You just cannot enter the casino proper while able to defend yourself. I have been to the French Lick hotel and restaurant a few times, but stopped short of entering the casino floor.

I can only comment on Horshoe Casino in the south (the old Caesar's). All areas you can carry except the boat. As you go through the turnstiles to enter the boat area, you can ask security to check your gun. They will take you to a room with lockers and secure it while you're on the boat.

IANAL but for all the trips I've ever made to the casinos in Indiana, you can carry up until the point that the security people check ID for people under 21.

IANAL but I see it this way, You must be 21 to enter the Casino, Do you have to be 21 to enter the attached building. My guess is no, as that is the way it is here at Aztar. So IMO our GTG
