I found that a laser mounted on my handgun was a waste of money when shooting IDPA.
1st The laser is lined up on your sights at only one distant.
After that it is above or below your sight picture.
You need to search for the dot as you look down the barrel.
If it is below the barrel.
You have to pick you head up to see it.
It is normally mounted below the barrel.
If you look down the barrel and you see the dot.
You shot is going to be low and how low depends on distance to offender.
I now believe the only use of a laser is clearing someplace.
Your gun is in the ready position laser on or ready.
You come upon the offender.
You can quickly place the laser dot on the offender and fire.
You would not attempt to locate your iron sight until after the first shot.
The laser would be like having a light on your gun.
The light lights up the offender and you quickly fire.
But it is a more precise point of aim.
The problem I found with all my lasers.
They do not hold true after firing or long storage or handling or something.
