i reload for 38spl and 357mag. i use 2 different powders for both. For the 357 i wanted a powder than metered well and semi conservative on the charge needed. i looked at my reloading manual(lyman 49th) in the section that explained what each type of powder was(ball ,flake,extruded) and then to the data to find a modest starting charge. I ended up picking Accurate#7 because its a ball powder(meters well) and had a modest charge for the velocity i was aiming for .
