There's an addendum to this topic. The person who refused to allow Addy to come to her class has since changed her mind, though I think someone changed it for her. We still won't be taking her there, but it's good to know she has seen the light. I know we will probably experience more of this kind of thing, especially if she goes off to school being tube fed. Just so we're clear, her tube is attached to her stomach near the belly button, it is not a NG tube that goes in the nose or mouth. It's fairly common for some schools to make tube-fed kids skip the cafeteria and go to the nurses office to eat. I can tell you that my wife will be one mushroom-cloud layin' mofo if this happens to Addy...

I have a dear friend who had a baby 25 weeks 1 day. He is 7(?) months old now and still has a trach and a feeding tube. He is just now taking solids by a spoon and nurses like a champ (after much fighting with Riley of all places) while still taking extra breastmilk through the tube.

My children have seen him nurse, tube fed, suctioned, diaper changed, and none of it phased them. (Except the whole penis thing. The girls were really puzzled by that.)
