VN Vet, Jarhead77 and any other old dogs on the board, have you ever heard of Samuel Whittemore? He was one hell of an American.

    Samuel Whittemore

I do now, thanks to you.....................In Arlington, Mass. Samuel Whittemore, then 80 years old, killed three British soldiers, April 19, 1775. He was shot, bayoneted, beaten and left for dead, but recovered and lived to be 98 years of age.

I think the firewall is the legion of those who have served this great nation. It is the sworn duty of a great many to defend and uphold the Constitution. Most vets are very vigilant and have a sharp eye to abuses. Not much will slide before the outcry is heard. We will all do our part if called and won't shy from the responsibility! We are the failsafe of freedom and know all to well the face of tyranny when we see it! :patriot:

Aren't Vets "the 1%" nowadays? Just saying we really don't have that large a proportion of our citizenry who have served.

The vets occupy a large number of the "3%" true, but there are so many others who have not served but want to, and have aspirations towards the same goal but are either too afraid to stand (because they don't have a solid base to rely on), or are uneducated in "how" to stand up.

The vast, I stress, vast majority of our citizens have been poisoned by our preceding generations' acceptance of liberal and socialist reform, therefore they are not only poorly educated, but also deeply indoctrinated in unconstitutional laws.

You do realize that our Constitution was set up to ensure a checks and balances system whereto the people controlled the government in place through vote. Who is in power is because we all in some way or another have allowed it to happen through the times. For so many decades, one person alone cannot bring about a change. The change occurs through "mob rule" that inherently comes from a democracy. As the United States has become so large in population, individual votes are about as important as a grain of rice for your supper. If however there were large groups of votes, centralized, and organized, then there is a possibility of being heard. This results in one of two cases, an interpretation of civil disobedience, in which case the fearful federal government acts radically, or the group, with it's share of propaganda (obviously in its favor using facts and evidence as its medium of transmission), increases the nearby citizens into its ranks. A change will HAVE to happen, otherwise the government will HAVE to turn on its people. That alone is time bomb and the government knows it, they will try to preserve themselves and will be forced into a compromise.

One way or another, a change is possible. The sheeple just need educating and the citizens need a cause

The problem is that too many of them at this point depend upon not understanding in order to maintain the status quo that they will not give up, at least not voluntarily.
