Free Syrian Army rebel slides two grenades down the barrel of a tank.
The first one damaged the breech, allowing for the second one to be so effective. The size of the balls on this guy...

But this is how it's done when SHTF.

and a tank is just going to let you walk up to it and roll something down its barrel? Or will it mow you down with a .50 or .308?

What happens to him if the main gun fires when he's right underneath it? Regardless if he's taken the pin out of the grenade.

Also are these the al qaeda Free Syrian Army rebels that we're arming? or the Bad Free Syrian Army rebels that we heard were throwing people's bodies off of the buildings, killing innocents of all colors and pretty much singling out black people for execution?

    holy crap...that was awesome!

this gives me such a good excuse to convince the wife to start hoarding grenades!!!

Serious note though, this is only effective in this exact type of situation, where there is no gunner or support troops in close support. In most cases, especially with very skilled tacticians, I find it hard to believe that a tank would be alone long enough to get the drop on it. Even if the first round was successful, one should consider the strong possibility of an SOS and following support fire.

What else would you expect from a tank crew from the middle east? One tank all alone and no supporting troops or other armor.

Here's a potentially ignorant question...if you didn't have a grenade and just forced two or three feet of thick chain down a tank barrel, would that confound the round's exit enough to Kb it, Glock style?

Yes it would. A tube sock full of mud and rocks pushed in a foot or two would accomplish the same thing.

That seems hard to believe. Wouldn't you need something that would truly wedge itself in the barrel? I could see attempting such a thing as sabotage while the tank is unmanned, but to be on the business end of a tank barrel fiddling around like MacGyver sounds like a good way to come up short an arm... or head. And that's assuming it isn't manned by a gunner. :biggun:

All you need is something that will stay in the barrel long enough for pressure in the chamber to expand beyond what the chamber was designed to handle.

I guess it would depend on how much the air between the projectile and the blockage would compress before the blockage was pushed out and if the barrel and/or chamber could take the resulting spike in pressures.

The block doesn't have to exist for very long when you go from 0 PSI to hundreds of thousands of PSI over the course of a few milliseconds.

This makes me wonder what lit road flare dropped down the barrel would do. Particurally if follwed by a magnezuim flint stick.

Yup, accomplishing that feat against a tank manned by incompetent "soldiers," and accomplishing that feat against a tank manned by well-trained professionals are two different things.

Yea the FSA is pretty much made up of islamic nutjobs consisting primarily of terrorist groups, foreign fighters, crimainal, and Saudi mercenaries committing worse atrocities than assads forces ever did. We are so seemingly cash strapped yet its so imperative that we send these kind souls millions and millions of dollars in aid and weapons. This looked simple because its probably propaganda. Assad has abandoned equipment all over syria and these videos make good recruiting tools.
