Only one way to prevent all the doom and gloom many of you are posting - Change the Culture and include all gun owners. Stop eating ourselves and be open and talk to others about being responsible armed citizens. Hiding in the shadows won’t help because the other side won’t realize the big scary boogieman they fear is actually the soccer mom in the PTA or the guy who made their lunch today CC’ing while delivering their food.

It’s ours and ours only to loose this fight.

I hear what you are saying. I have been asked this question so I will pass it on to you. What kind of strategy do you propose to accomplish your objective?

Not to be a nay-sayer or a defeatist, but being a responsible armed citizen requires that my presence is not disruptive, and therefore goes unnoticed by the masses. That in and of itself is being used against us.

The People (as in "We the") are being warned about the big scary boogieman every time we turn on our TV. A favorite paraphrase of mine; Don't hold your breath waiting for the revolution to begin because they are just finishing theirs. Unfortunately, I don't think they are actually done with theirs yet.

Each one of us might have a responsibility to our nation and our hobby, but we are out-numbered out-spent and out-propagandized and the socialists just want us out.

The doom and gloom isn't to depress people, it is a warning. It is a warning for awakening. It is a warning for preparation. It is a warning that the time for decision making is coming.

Don't have one...because that was written in sarcasm. Any of those who think that was a serious answer need to take a deep breath and use more purple in their imagination when reading.

For your viewing and reading pleasure, my original post has been altered.

Ultimately, we are done. I believe this American experiment is winding down. Our country already has too many citizens who are willing to sell out their freedom for a false sense of security. Years ago Americans decided to ignore their history and allowed their peace and prosperity to be manipulated and turned into a weapon. Now we no longer even discuss liberty, but rather how much we are willing to enslave ourselves.

We see it even here on INGO. When a gun law is proposed, there are some who say, "just as long as they don't take mine...I'm OK with it." "I don't need XYZ because it's worthless, a toy, a waste of time...money...ammo...insert your excuse here."

I am not sure at what point Americans decided that selling out others rights/liberties was the best way of protecting their own. But it has metastasized and I am not convinced that the patient can be saved.

I could only listen to a few seconds, but when she invoked Cliven Bundy as an example of a "good guy", I turned it off.

To me, her point was actual physical resistance requires numbers. She also said that regarding non compliance with gun laws

I think physical resistance would require numbers, or 1 with good mobility.

I read a story one time about a staff of 400 security guards being able to confine/police 200,000 people.

It would seem that even if someone might know their situation is dire and their end is certain, either immediately or through a more excruciating experience of forced labor, disease and starvation, there just might not be anyplace else to go to that warrants an uprising.

No offense to the survivors. Tough times, tough choices.

Best way to prevent your guns from being confiscated is to have a tragic boating accident while cleaning all of your guns on a very deep lake. That accident caused all those pretty and clean guns to sink away in the deep, deep water never to be seen again....right?

Happened to me once...was invited to go on a hunting expedition and was told to, "Bring everything you got as you never know what you might run into, or what you might need!" and, sadly, in the process of transferring from the float plane to the boat, that one bag that had everything in it slipped and fell into the water, sinking very quickly! With a huge storm coming in and the float plane needing to leave immediately in order to be able to stay ahead of it, we had no choice but to head directly to shore and was, therefore, unable to accurately pin-point the location where the incident occurred. The only thing that didn't get lost was the older (built in 1990), nickle Taurus 85 .38 special I had on my hip, along with the 5 rounds that were in it.
Needless to say, the storm canceled the hunting trip and, in the end, all was lost for nothing!

Who said he was a savior. You have two choices in November. Socialism or Trump.

It is that simple. Just read an article that house republicans are standing with Trump only because of their base. Power to the people.

If someone actually needs to lose their lawfully acquired property in a tragic boating accident, it's probably past the time to implement the personal property in a judicious and morally sound manner.

They will use the uk approach if they ever get serious about taking firearms away. Get rid of one class at a time, make you come to them to drop them off. Prosecute if they catch you with them after the ban. Eventually you have nothing.

That's my guess too. They don't need to go door to door, but only need to ban a chunk at a time until all are forbidden. They'll do it in waves with a couple of poor SOBs made an example out of before the next amnesty period that will allow folks to turn in banned weapons without penalty. They'll probably go through several iterations of that with highly publicized stories of some schmuck that never did a thing wrong getting 5 years behind bars because he was found to have an old M1 Garand when officials were in the house fighting a fire. Others will get caught shooting them at the range or in the woods somewhere and they too will be made an example of. With each iteration, you will get more and more people deciding that it's just not worth the risk to keep them just like we do already today when someone talks about making an unlicensed SBR and gets sound advice to stay on the safe side of the law.

No, they'll never go door to door unless they have a credible report of someone with contraband and then it will be a show of force that will make others think twice about holding on to their weapons. The greasy SOBs that will try to make this happen will write laws that will make heros of the cowards that turn gun owners in while sending decent people to jail.

Cops can't even go door to door to get rid of drugs (The house across the street from my office is slinging rocks, I see several deals per day), why would I think they could get rid of the far more prevalent firearms?
