    seen it done to many times.....they dump supply air up there but not a 1 return....they think a stair case in a return.....in all 2 story houses i do i pull 70% of R/A form up stairs....

    you can dump all the S/A in you want and if you don't pull any R/A out your just spinning your wheels!!!

    BTW, it remains to be seen that I'm wrong on this subject. We will likely never know, as I doubt a Manual J will ever be completed on his home to find out. But if I am, you better enjoy, cuz it doesn't happen often. :cool:

    Ok, Manual J mentioned. I've been told in the past, if you are getting a system installed, to request a Manual J be performed first. If the tech won't do it, run. What say you?

    If you're going to install a system:

    1) Run a Manual J 'load calculation' to size the equipment properly.
    2) Do a Manual D to properly check/size the ducting.
    3) Install to code and manufacture's recommendations.
    4) Set-up the equipment to operate with-in the manufacture's specifications.
    5) Register the equipment for the additional extended factory warranty.
    6) Enjoy your new comfort system.
