Well this past week I bought the new LC9 (about 20% larger than the LCP and in 9mm).

I really like this gun. - IMHO Ruger has hit another home run.

I can and do carry it in my front jeans pocket (it fills the pocket full, but is comfortable , very comfortable in baggy cargo shorts).

I still use a DeSantis Nemesis Holster for it (only bigger).

It has good sights and I ran my 1st 100 rounds through it (all I've had time to put through it ) w/o a burp.

Better go look at one, you won't be sorry if you decide to buy one.

[STRIKE]any size comparison to a Walther PPS? sounds like it's smaller than the PPS?[/STRIKE]

just looked it up myself. it's only slightly taller than the PPS (4.5 compared to 4.41) but it's pretty much smaller in all the other dimensions... wonder where I can shoot one in the Lafayette area.

How much was it if you dont mind me asking. I have looked for one since the day they released them and havent found one yet. I havent tried hard enough I guess. I have an LCR and an LCP so I figure I should just keep the collection going. They look great, if the price is decent.

    @ 1911 shooter

I paid $369 at a local gun shop that I do a lot of business with.

They got 3 in on the day I happen to drop by.

All three were sold in that 1st day.

    @ jayhawk

I'm a lefty and I never put the safety on any way with the LC9.

    I carried the LCP for 3 years w/o a safety.:D

    Naw, I don't or didn't shoot the +P+ ammo. :ar15:

It's just for the picture. :rockwoot:

Haha, was wondering about the ammo...I just figured you had a really steady grip or something.

And that's good to know about carrying without a safety. It seems like a lot of these new single stack guns are lacking in the lefty controls. The LC9 is definitely a nice looking little pistol...maybe small enough to be an ankle gun even.

I went ahead and paid for one today but they dont have them yet. Should have it in a week or so. Looks like just what im needing for decent firepower easy to pack. I paid 360. Hows the trigger pull on that bad boy?

I've been interested in this gun since Ruger debut them. Glad to see they are hitting shelves now.

I'm not entirely positive I'll be able to replace my LCP with the LC9 due to size differences... but then again, I only rock the LCP when I'm in my suites at work and those pockets are fairly large. Nothing like a jean pocket or restrictive jean material.

How much of a "noticeable" difference is there in pocket carry between the two in your opinion?

    It's long but smooth.

It could be my imagination, but it seems smoother than my LCP :rockwoot:

    By the way Mr.Jag

I think you'll be very pleased with the gun when it get's in.

"How much of a "noticeable" difference is there in pocket carry between the two in your opinion?"

It's about 20% larger than my LCP.

Last Saturday night I carried it to a party in my front jeans pocket (in a DeSantis Nemesis holster) and my pocket felt full, but not uncomfortable.

Sunday was warm and I carried it in my front pocket of my baggy cargo shorts and that was very easy.

    Good luck with it.

And give us a range report when you shoot it.

I was thinking about this so I compared it to my Kahr CW9 (that I bought for $400)
    Kahr has a longer barrel
    Kahr is shorter
Kahr is lighter (by 2 oz)
    Same height and width

Nice lookin' pistol. I've been thinking about one too. I'd really like to handle one first though. Hopefully someone around here will get one in at some point.

Well I took it to the range again today and everyone put another 100 rounds through it.

I put 50 through it - then the guy beside me asked if I'd mind if he shot it.

Then at least 6 other guys had to shoot it.

One guy was an amazing shot with it. He pulled his first shot - focused and put the next seven in the 10 ring.

No one else did near that well .. certainly not me. :D

This shows a comparison of the LC9 to the LCP, size-wise. For those interested

i am a ruger nut, but IMHO, i worry about the trigger on this gun coming out of the gate. if im not mistaken.....the sr9 and lcp both had recalls in the beginning due to trigger issues
