Sharpshooter
Hi fellas and gals: I own a few Colt 1911 models. I have a model 70 MK!V that has a barrel issue I have rarely seen. When I shoot the bullet, it actually corkscrews the bullet instead of the nice spherical straight line.
I am considering using my deburring tool with a 45' face on it to recrown the barrel. I read about this problem and it would seem that the crown was not done perpendicular to the barrel, that it was skewed a few degrees.
I was wondering if I should Grind the top of the Barrel Flat and then use my deburring champfer tool to set the crown, or just regrind the crown and not worry about leveling off the top of the barrel first.
