When I lived on River Road, it was Palmer Dodge making the noise, or at least the kids throwing rocks at the cars on the lot

Did you mean hostiles? Or like, a Holiday Inn Express? You can hear Hamilton County Fish and Game on River Rd as well as some of the folks who live there.

i live on north side indy...86th street...while ive never heard them(probably cuz all the neighborhood dogs interfere with their howling) but i have seen at least a half dozen in my day..big mean healthy ones...usually in winter time (i guess they geyt hungry and go after easy house cats and what not)
