Thanks everybody. Despite what I had read on the interwebz, I had no problem breaking it down without any tools. It feels perfect in the hand. I normally get pretty bored with my EDC after a year or so but this one's gonna stay with me forever.

I've got the LW Champion and love the gun. It's my favorite carry for fun gun. Love the weight and balance on my hip.
Keep a watch on the guide rod. They have a tendency on backing out and loosening up.
Springfield sent me my last one the day after I called them. First rate company.

Not really sure! It was a smell that I could not get past. If I had to describe it, I would say like a plastic type smell. who knows!!

My SA LWCO is my favorite pistol. That .45 in a Commander size is fun to shoot and the rail adds "tacti-coolness"
