I can't wait to shoot a 97B. I hope it's not like finally getting the beautiful girl and finding out she has no personality.

That's not a problem Que. I just wish I had not sold mine before getting to know here. Back when I sold it, I was on an 'Every gun needs to fill a role' kick. Since I had .45s in 1911s, it was easy to let the 97B go. I'm still trying to track her down.

That P-35 really is a thing of beauty.
Not only did JMB design guns so well from a function aspect, but he knew how to (usually) make them so pretty.

My Dad bought this new with the matching .25 Baby Browning in '68 :

And this gentlemen is what a 9mm semi-auto is supposed to look like. Would love to find one like it some day.

As for my favorite handgun to shoot, it would have to be my well worn 1971 vintage S&W model 15-3. Absolute pleasure to shoot all day long. Second favorite is my 1911.

This 1911 was given to my Dad when he graduated from St John's Military Academy in 1949. It flew with him on bombing missions in the "Haulin Ass" during Korea and in KC 97s and KC 135s in Vietnam. When I graduated from St John's in 1978 he gave it to me. It is a 1948 C serial number gun, the first year production for civilians following WWII. I shoot it a good bit today and will go to one of my nephews down the line.

Story behind this one makes it the clear winner!
