I have wanted one for a long time, and last week I finally made it happen. I brought home a new 2014 Harley Davidson Road King. I know that a Harley wouldn't be the first choice for some folks out there, and I certainly respect their opinion, but I can't find a flaw with this bike anywhere. The ride is incredible, the handling is fantastic for an 800+ lb. bike, and the power is impressive, especially considering where I started. Other than being somewhat overpriced, this thing is perfect for me.

Congrats on a sweet looking bike. I think you made a great choice. Ride what you like. Not what anyone tells you that you should ride.

Great looking Road King! Can't be sure from the photo, is it dark blue, or black?

Two wheels are two wheels. I own / have owned BMW, BSA, Harley, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph, and Yamaha. Other than each bikes specific 'eccentricities', I've faced the same hazards on the road in every case: 'cagers', LOL.

Thanks everyone. It's a blue and black bike and the brighter the sunlight the better it looks. I started on a Honda Shadow for a few months, but this is my first "big" bike. I haven't had any trouble yet, but I show the motorcycle and the road a lot of respect.

Congratulations! I had one but had to sell it several years ago, I still miss it terribly. Nothing rides like a Road King.

Same here. I've owned Hondas and Harleys from hardtail panheads to full dress evo blockheads. Triumphs, and even a Ducati.

    Ride what you like. Period.

Excellent bike! The Touring family is awesome! Time to put some miles on.

I just went from a Wide Glide to a Street Glide. Totally different machines.

It's your money, buy what you like and enjoy it! My friend who taught me how to ride motorcycles many years ago ended up with a Road King and he said he loved it. He had 45 years of riding experience so he had ridden many different models.

    Enjoy and be careful.

Nice bike Dr M. My wife rode a RK for about three years. We traded it in on a 2014 Street Glide for the faring. I ride a 2011 Limited so we have basically the same wind protection for the 500 mile per day trips we take every year.
