I've had a couple of different hosters for my S&W .38 airweight but nothing seems to keep the butt of the weapon from flopping around. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you need a real gun belt.

The holster is only part of the solution, but the main way to insure your gun is tight up against your body is to use a real gun belt. More than anything else, the gun belt will make it easy to carry, a heavy gun seems light, a light gun seems weightless.

    says who?
he didn't evet tell you what kind of holster he had, assuming he needs a new belt does him no good.

When you hear hoofbeats, expect horses, not zebras. ;)

    To the OP, two questions:

    1) What type of holster are you currently using, and

    2) What type of gun belt are you currently using?

Even when I pocket carry I wear a good heavy belt. I have carried guns in cheap holsters with no problems...so long as I used a good belt. ;)

Check out a Bianchi 7/7L (small frame) for owb strong side hip carry. Excellent thumb retention strap, no wiggle and easy draw; have used one for years. May need to stretch the retention strap for a custom fit (wet and pull to fit). Straight up or tilt carry slots.

You're correct. It could be his holster, this issue is usually due to wearing too light of a belt in my experience which is why I made that statement. I guess we will need more information as to what his current carry setup is.

the Don Hume JIT works great for my my 340pd, and I bought a belt at the greenwood mall around the holiday from a leather shop out of Moorseville, Hilltop leather. But even with a TJ Maxx belt the JIT held it tight to the body for me.
