now remember....... they probably don't teach proper US flag etiquette in Kenya. ;)

Respectfully and not to be argumentative, BUT. We ( our educational system ) doesn't teach Flag etiquette Here where the flag still flys, why should they teach it anywhere else?

I don't believe he deserves to be president, BUT he is our countries elected official. We need to support him or the next four years will be wasted. Good things can come from this man. The more this nation is divided the more it will fall. How much farther will we by our actions push it down before we Unite ?

This is not who I would have chosen, BUT it is the choice of the people. Now do we stand united ? Or do we pick and bicker and back stab until this country has fallen for another 4 or more years?

The legal issues of his qualifications will be sorted out in a court of Law, by the law of the land. Until He is no longer eligible or is impeached by defect, we need to weigh our support for the elected leader of this land.

It has been over a month since He was elected and it is time that the innuendo and
    out right :soapbox::chillout: Sorry

Is anybody even clicking on the first link ?

    I believe

And yes that was intentional. I believe that man cannot. Not one man, not a hundred men, not one hundred thousand men , not one trillion men can.
    I believe GOD can.

While this nation is about Freedom, Liberty, Justice All these things can be accomplished with GOD. With out God I believe this nation will continue to fall and those founding principles will continue to fall away.

Ok actually this post was not to focus on the video but rather the link prior to it so I edited and removed vid.
I know it's been a month the video just made me feel a little better after watching the other link.
I am not a good typer so long explinantions elude my fingers.

The vid on the above link I believe is currant and not an old hashed out vid.
    Anyway.

Just kinda makes me sick the way so many worship this guy

thats true for most places now im sure. I remember saying the pledge every day in grade school, and being somewhat taught the proper way to salute the flag. I know all the do's and don'ts of proper flag etiquette were taught to me in cub scouts and boy scounts though! :rockwoot:

Adolf Hitler was fairly elected leader of Germany. Just because some one is elected leader of a country, dose not mean we should follow him or support him. We must all use our better judgement.

Did you miss the line "Until He is no longer eligible or is impeached by defect," ?

Hitler did not start out the monster he ended up. Although he may have had mental defects, He didn't push his agenda until in office. Nothing I have seen has convinced me that The elected president of the USA Obamam has any intentions of world domination through extermination. At least no more than Bush.

I will stand in support of him until he gives me reason not to. If he tries to do the things people are speculating that he will do, then I will stand in opposition. The problem I was trying to address is that no matter who was elected there would be a division that keeps US divided.

Mr.Hoppes, I can understand what you are trying to convay and respect your opinion. But... I base my opinion on his past short performance as a senator and his marxist socialist background. I stand my ground. I will not support this kind of agenda.

We are seeing a great revival of Humanism in our culture. It has been growing and building for the last 3 (ish) decades and it seems to be building off the Renaissance where the 'thinkers' were just too good to do anything but whine, complain and do nothing but 'learn and evolve' into pathetic examples of nothing.
Humanism= 'Yes we can' do anything we want and not be accountable, be better than anyone and tell anyone what to believe, think and say... for 'we' are divine and rulers of this craphole.

There are a few those that still believe in Nationalism and what it stands for: God, Country and down to earth good people.

I would love so much to comment on this but because I do not want to be banned from this great site, I will not comment.

On a related note, I have a flag that is torn from storms 2 years ago. I have wanted to lay this flag to rest but instead have folded it respectfully and rightly (if that's a word) and would like advice of the best way to lay her to rest. Do I bury it, burn it, or leave it folded up in a drawer somewhere? What would be the best way? I didn't want to bury it as I feel like I'm burying my pride in my Country, and I didn't want to burn it as I would feel like those who hate this Country. Just looking for some advice. Thanks.

    Next to Lars
SE, there are organizations that will retire used Flags for you, usually around Flag Day in June (I want to say the American Legion does this?). You might google it and see what comes up.

Um, regarding the history of Hitler's rise to power, I think you need to look at it a little more closely. You might start with the SA--formed in 1920 and thugs from the very beginning.

As for the rest, I continue to enjoy the privilege of living in a nominally free country and being able to call 'em as I see 'em regarding the current President Elect and what I believe he, and the party he represents, is likely to do once he takes office next month.

We're not causing divisiveness. The divisiveness is already there. We're no more the cause than the child shouting "the Emperor has no clothes!" was the cause of his nakedness.

4 USC §8. k.: The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.

And yes, as Pami suggested, contact the American Legion, and they should be able to help you out.

There is a very large difference between burning the flag while screaming "Down with America" and burning the flag as a part of a dignified show of respect for it. :twocents:

I think I would rather do it myself. I appreciate the help guys. I just didn't want to feel bad for burning her in all her glory.

I can understand that. In that case, call the Legion and ask them if they have a flag burning any time soon that you could watch.

I wouldn't, for example, use a "burn barrel" that I use for garbage as a place to give Old Glory a proper send-off. More likely I'd go and buy some good wood and create a nicely-sized blaze at a fire pit in the woods somewhere, surrounded by nature. No cell phone (or any other interruption), no music, unless it's the National Anthem, and I'd recite the Pledge prior to the flag going into the fire. I'd prefer to have a flagpole to hoist the flag up first for the Pledge... sort of a "one last time" thing, but if that's not possible, it's not. I don't know if it's proper to fold the flag prior to burning or not.

I figured on a prayer and reciting the National Anthem. Also figured on a nice fire. She's already respectfully folded and has flown her last fly. I do appreciate the advice and while I still feel bad about burning a flag, I don't feel AS bad. Besides, if someone's going to burn her, it's gonna be me and I'm gonna make sure it's done right.

    Again, Pami, Bill, Thanks.
