I was just fine going with the general consensus about ATI OMNI lowers but...

I actually have 3 of ATI's firearms, and have had GREAT luck with all 3! Had issues with 1, and ATI sent me free replacement parts, post haste! 1500 rounds through their 1911, over 1000 rounds through one of their forged lowers, (Actually made by Extreme Machine, somewhere in PA.), and 30 rounds through the OMNI lower!. There are new names in regards to the best bang for your buck!

I highly doubt anyone here is planning a battle rifle build out of one of these lowers. I think most (including myself) see it more an experiment and perhaps a chance to find the basis for a very light weight build, that might be suitable for younger shooters to learn on.
