Similar thing just happened last year in New Zealand. Government told the parents they couldn't name their child what they wanted. Courts even backed them up.

Looks like the Icelandic court decided that she could have her own name, after all. Of course it didn't throw out the ludicrous rules on naming that still exist. Anyone else who has a non state approved name will have to go through the same courts to fight for their rights. This is too much government.
