The IC 228H offers a nice array of features for the mobile ham radio operator. Plus it has two power levels...5w LOW and 45w HIGH. This would make a good backup radio or something to setup at home so you can participate in the Skywarn nets.
You must have a FCC issued Amateur Radio Technician Class or higher license to transmit with this radio.
Radio is about 23 years old, and the LCD display backlight doesn't work anymore...the LCD is perfectly readable in the daylight but no dice in the dark.
Includes Microphone, and copy of the operations manual
Receive: 138 Mhz - 174 Mhz (Can receive NWS broadcasts)
Transmit: 144 Mhz - 150Mhz
Power: 13.8 VDC +/- 15% (Negative Ground)
$50.00 cash money and it is all yours - Yup...fifty bucks. And it works.
