Michigan City Rifle Club will be holding its monthly IDPA match this coming Sunday, August 9th. Set up is at 7:00 am for anyone able to come out and help, registration starts at 8:00 am, shooters briefing at 8:30 am and shooting to start at 9:00 am sharp. All times are central. Cost is $10 per shooter, women and dependent children shoot for free. The minimum round count is 72, with 5 courses of fire.
Also for those of you who are interested we will be holding a 3 gun side match after they regular pistol match, if you shoot the IDPA match the side match is just an additional $5. The courses of fire will be slightly modified versions of the pistol match and wont require anytime for set up. The round counts are as follows and are the minimum required for the match. Pistol 8 rds, rifle 52, shotgun 3 birdshot and 6 slugs. So bring out your rifles, shotguns and supporting gear for some added fun to your match day.
Now for the the reality of these kinds of matches.
MCRC Pistol Division uses a cold range policy at all matches..
MCRC Pistol Division enforces an 180 degree rule.
All firearms are only to be handled at designated safe area(s) and at the fireing line under S/O supervision.
No ammunition is allowed in the safe area(s), the only exception to this is during the unloading of a carry weapon and ammunition should be removed from area immediately.
Follow all S/O commands.
