I have participated in my first IDPA shoot. I have joined the IDPA and received my membership card and related information. The question is simply how do I get "qualified ? " I see individual's scores after various shoots and note they are shooting in novice, marksman, sharptshooter, etc.

How have they gained this classification ?

    Thanks in advance

    HI

I hope you enjoy IDPA. Just shoot in a classification match and your score will put you in the correct classification. The match is detailed in the IDPA rule book.

Most clubs hold a classifier match a month or two before the state match each year, so everyone can get classified/reclassified for it. Watch here for classifier match announcements starting about August.
