Glock 23 seems to be a frequent pistol on this list...

The glock is a versatile pistol and .40 is a versatile cartridge. Glock 23 is a nice balance of size, weight, capacity and power.

My pick would be a Walther P99 in .40 s&w. Kinda like a Glock only better.;)

4" S&W 686 .357 Magnum. Home defense, hunting anything around here from small game to deer, short enough to carry concealed under a jacket. Lots of .38 spl and .357 mag loads to tailor to the job at hand.
