Thanks for the warm welcome all!

Really nice to see a forum that isn't dead. Couple hobbies I have -- 100% of discussion online has moved to FB/Insta, neither of which am I on.

Planning on checking out Kingsbury and Winamac -- Willow Slough appears to be closed? I really like range target shooting but like blowing clays up just as much and I'm pretty lost on how to handle a thrower etc myself -- The place I shot in KY I showed up, gave them 5 bucks and blew up as many frisbees out of 25 as I could. Called Jasper Pulaski and Winamac and in both cases they don't have electrical hookup at the shotgun stands : /

First let me say ...Welcome. Glad you moved from the "peoples republic of Illinois" and more specifically Cook county. No need for a FOID card here in the great state of Indiana. Anyway, Just wanted to second the suggestion of shooting clays at the Winamac FWA range. I have a free standing tri- pod thrower that you pull back and load by hand then pull a rope and it releases the clay bird. That is what I use at the Winamac clay range. I would encourage you to take a road trip to the Winamac FWA ranges and property. I am fairly confident you will be impressed. In my opinion the Winamac FWA is a gem and well kept secret. The rifle ranges are the best in the state in my opinion. The staff at Winamac are courteous. Just follow the posted rules. If not... they will have a courteous talk with you. Pretty simple really. Anyway...give it a "look see" and again WELCOME!!:)

Awesome, thanks for the welcome and thanks for the details/suggestions on throwers. I hadn't looked into manual ones at all, but I'll give it a look. Pricing on electric ones had me pretty much going "I could get a decent gun or a buncha ammo for that price..." Appreciate it.
