Illinois sales

I'm new to this site. I have a 9mm. I want to get rid of and two of my relatives in Illinois think I can just sell it to them. I'm almost certain that's not the case. Can anyone confirm that it's illegal for me to sell a handgun to an Illinois resident?

Handgun sales across state lines must go through an FFL.
