title is a little misleading. the guns being seized are from people who have had their FOIDs revoked. Need more information on a case by case basis before making a decision.

However, I agree with you about not living there.

Didn't know FOID was in the 2nd Amendment. Who knew?
Yes. It says so in the fine print.

"The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"*

*(unless your FOID card has been revoked)

Im sure in their pea sized brains they are heros of the republic and just trying to make it home every night. Because hey "its the law" and they are "just doing their jobs" "just following legal orders" right?!

So they are tracing the form 4473 activity thought the ATF? Did I read that right?

I think that's a leap in logic given that Chicago requires registration. There is no way local law enforcement can take a name and see what guns you've bought via 4473, as in there is no mechanism to do it. You can take a S/N and MAYBE find out who bought it, you can't take a name and see what they bought.

Link to the form, you have 5 days after obtaining a firearm to register it.

FOID is nothing but a tax that has the additional onerous side effect of allowing the corrupt Gubment of the National Socialist State of Illinois to disarm the law abiding Public.
Since the criminals, by the very nature of their chosen profession, don't obey the FOID laws they are NEVER going to be disarmed.

Are these people felons, or just not on the approved list from the Illinois Government?

While both can happen, I would argue that it is irrelevant. Not only does the Second Amendment not say a thing about a FOID card, it also does not allow infringement based on past behavior or felon status. I will stand by my position that anyone not suitable to be free with all his rights should not be free at all. This nonsense of permanently demoting people to second-class citizenship needs to stop, and those too dangerous to be armed are too dangerous to be outside of prison or else too dangerous to be breathing.
