I wanted to explain and expand more on what we are doing at Silver Creek CC. We had a turn over in some of the board and 3 new Officers. A new President, Vice President and Secretary.
One of our primary concerns was the status of the range it's self. In the past, the work done was not done properly and in some cases, downright shoddy. We hired a contractor that not only is an excellent excavation engineer, but a USPSA and 3 gun shooter as well. He saw what we saw, in terms of what was needed.
We are on a multi phase schedule. This year we are addressing the serious gaps in the safety of several bays, most notably Bay 13, the bay and stage that was thrown out of last years Indiana State USPSA match.
First off, bay 1. Before-
After-
Our biggest goal for Bay one was to rid the bay of the unsightly trees and to have a uniform berm height.
Bay 2. Once again, ridding the bay of the trees and squaring it off, before-
After-
Bay 13. It was the bay that the berms were never to the right height. We also moved the berm in 30 feet on the left. The bay just did not need to be that big. Before-
Work in progress-
Other work being done, but not shown is adding length to the berm between Bays 3 and 4, 14 and 15, as well as adding some height to berms and filling in areas that in the berms that have dipped or created holes in the berms.
We may address other berms and bays this summer, as well as next year working on drainage. We will be doing cleanup in the coming weeks, making new burn barrels and working to fill up the dumpster we had delivered yesterday. We also going to be re-rocking the entire facility from the gate to the bays.
It's a work in progress, but work that is needed. We hope that the work being done will bring new life to the club as well as project to the shooting community our commitment to making Silver Creek a first class range and shooting facility for our members and our guests.
