I've met Donnelly outside of the political realm. He really is a nice guy. That being said, I too believe that he will vote whatever way his party wants him to.

I've hit his office up twice now on this, once a few weeks before Friday, and a second time last night after reading about his waffling. The first reply was very polite, but obviously just a response of a staffer. The one last night came back about 8am this morning as an auto-reply "out of office" message.

Each of you has written Donnelly by now, right?

    Hand, paper, pen, stamp, envelope?

If this is that important, get it done.

Do you think Obama will tell Donnelly its his way or the highway? Wonder what he will choose?
He might just well tell Obama to **** up a rope. He's got 6 years in the senate to do as he pleases. He may not caucus with the reps, but he may not follow along with everything the dems want, either. We'll just have to see if he wants a second 6 years bad enough.

This in bold. He has 6 years. ONLY six years if he votes for any AWB. If he goes against it he can still POSSIBLY have a chance, party line be damned.

I fully expect the NRA, all blue dogs and several "Republicans" to fold and support a new AWB.

    crap just makes me sick...
