By law a river boat casino has to provide you with a secure lock box for your fire arm. Simply walk up to the greeter before you step on the boat, tell them you wish to check a gun. They well escort you to a room open a box, YOU place your gun inside, they give YOU the key. That's it. Return and collect your gun after you lose all your money. Pretty simple.
I've been to French Lick, and horse shoe, without any issues what so ever.

I used to work there....that casino IS covered by the River Boat exclusion in the carry law, therefore it IS illegal to posses a firearm in the casino. They WILL make you take a knife to your car, and if you have a gun the IGC cops WILL arrest you, I've seen it happen. As far as, if it's concealed they'll never know all I'm going to tell you is their cameras can read a driver's license laying on the floor from over 40ft up, and their surveillance guys have nothing better to do than look for people violating the rules. Like I said, IGC WILL arrest you, is it really worth it?

It's not actually illegal, it's just against the IAC, but it effectively has the force of law. As DadOfFour said, though, you're fooling yourself if you think that the technicality of a casino not actually being a riverboat means it doesn't fall under the IGC's jurisdiction.

allowed beyond this point. Failure to comply with this rule may result in the immediate removal from the riverboat, immediate
detention by security personnel, the imposition of civil penalties, or exclusion under IC 4-33.".
(d) The riverboat licensee shall provide a secure place to which patrons do not have access to store weapons checked by:
(1) patrons;
(2) off duty law enforcement officers; or
(3) off duty federal enforcement officers.

True it is the IAC, however it still carries what would be considered criminal liabilities.
When I worked there I watched IGC escort an off duty IMPD officer out, I also watched as they arrested a guy with a hipoint POS lol Note, he was transported to, and locked up in, Shelby County Jail.....the consequences aren't worth it!

The Horseshoe down here in Elizabeth, IN has a "safe" where they allow you keep your sidearm, but wow does it make you feel like your the bad guy. Last time I was there they had a simple Stack-on safe that is less than 10ft away, to the right in the wall closest, from where they have security checking ID's to go down the escalator to get on the boat. It's not in another room off to the side but in a closet in plain sight to everyone walking by. But wow the looks on everyone face after they do their quick little paper work, when they ask you to disarm yourself and place it in the safe was priceless. I had at least a crowd of 30 or so walking by all wide-eyed when they seen me pull my Glock and holster.

Luckily the holster I had on that night was IWB CTAC Minotaur and is easy to remove and put on for me. I didn't like the idea of leave my loaded firearm just floating around in their safe without a holster on it. Would hate to see when someone had a slide belt loop holster would end up doing.

Do they allow you to lock your firearms up though? I had heard they had no facilities to accommodate this and have never carried out there.

At the time I worked there, no, they didn't, I don't know if they've since added something. I suppose you could try to make a stink that since they're required to provide a lock box and don't they can't enforce the prohibition, but I'd bet that's an argument you'd probably not win. I always left mine in my car when I worked there, and have done the same the couple times I've gone down there.

Also, I wouldn't recommend leaving it in the car...my friend got stuff stolen out of his back when it was in the big tent. Then again it was kind of his fault because he left the doors unlocked and the driver's window down...
