All of your choices, while legitimate, will not change anything. SNIP
On the other hand, choosing either the Republican or the Democrat will also not change anything. Dems and Reps have been in power for over 100 years. In all that time, has anything changed, except for the worst?

A third party candidate or no vote at all are just as viable choices as either of the major parties. Not because they can win (they can't), but because it doesn't matter who wins. Elections are just a con game designed to keep you under control by allowing you to believe you still have a say.

    My 2 cents about coats:

people claim they want change in government but yet your gonna vote in an anti-gun, washington elitest, anti citizen, life politician, who would lie to you on a sunny day and say it was cloudy???? why??? i know this guy from working for the republican state committee a while ago, and this guy is a total lie to your face sit on his A** politician. WHY PEOPLE WHY???? please dont tell me its because hes a republican so you have to vote along party lines. WTF?? seriously.
man i wish i had the money to run for congress. i dont care if all of the other members HATED ME, i would stand up for the peoples rights everytime. screw patting each other on the back, and crap. its the way they do it because enough dont stand against it. most politicians in washington only seek to further their own careers and so in order to get appointed to commitees and such they have to go TOTALY along party lines when it comes to BIG votes, or else they will be black listed. well black list me before i get ther baby, because every corrupt lazy a** thing i saw them doing id call them out on. Id go to washington with a true hatred for all the senior members, because they are the problem!!! if you have been in congress for more than 6 years YOU ARE A PIECE OF CRAP!! some smell worse than others, but you all float! im even talking about the pro gun people too, because how do you think they get those pro gun records?? they sell their soal to get compromise. screw that dont compromise!!! WE DONT NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORIST THAT HIJACK PLANES IN THIS COUNTRY, SO WHY DO WE NEGOTIATE WITH THE TERRORIST IN WASHINGTON???? Double standards SUCK!!! Throw out all of congress and start over. i dont care if we have to elect so many new members who are regular working class folks that they have to study parlementary proceedure as they are voting on the floor. I bet they'd still get more done than any congress in the last 50 years!!! why do we always have to elect prominant people of society or people of priveledge to congress??? they obviously SUCK so dont you think its time for something new??? vote for the guy you never heard of before. vote for a farmer, a cop, a teacher, a carpenter, a plumber, a fast food manager. come on anything is better than these crooks we keep sending back who pat each others backs and pad one anothers pockets. if americans keep electing the same trash to washington then you deserve whatever you get. im a veteran and a lot of veterans that i stay in touch with from WWII to present day are ashamed that the citizens of this country are throwing it all away. your giving all our freedoms away little by little because you compromise on one tiny thing to get another thing that you want. well how about we elect a politician who wont compromise the constitution for once???? HUH???? man im so Pissed right now im gonna go drink a beer and press my red "EASY BUTTON" and maybe when i wake up in the morning all the retards in this country will have vanished.

I have not followed Ellsworth lately but I sat in his office in DC a couple of years ago and felt that he was a decent fellow and he did have his office decorated with NRA and gun items. Now do I agree with him on everything know and will I vote for him this depends I will have to evaluate both candidates and any potential third party candidates and choose who I believe will represent me. Yes there stances on my right to bear arms will play heavily into it.

I'd say there is more likely to be an upcoming socialist bill in the next congress, that the likelihood of there being an anti-gun bill.

    Your thoughts?

You mean more fascist (read: corporatist) policies than we have now? How is that possible?

Also, very likely for another attempt at an AWB, after the upcoming Congressional mid-term.

I hate this, the primaries haven't even happened and are still 2 months away and everyone is already talking like Coats has the vote. There are still other options and unless you get your *** out there and tell people about Stutzman and Hostetler, people are going to vote for coats and we're gonna be in a pickle.

And this was the whole reason I started this thread. My local newspaper is full of DAN COATS stories but Hostettler and Stutzman are barely even mentioned as afterthoughts. We need to get out and tell people about the REAL candidates who hold REAL conservative beliefs.

I will not vote for either one. Neither meets my criteria.
So are you going to sit home and do nothing or are you going to work for someone like Hostletler or Stutzman to make sure that Coats does not win the primary?

    Absolutely.

We will face more takeovers of companies like GM, Chrysler, and the banks under Obama's next few years. We will continue to face socialized medicine issues. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have been quietly taken over so that now 80% of all home mortgages in the US are held by the government! Our currency will collapse if we don't stop the idiotic spending and the only way to do that is to change the balance of power. I'm not saying the GOP is perfect, in fact I think they are far from it, and that is why we need to make sure that we work BEFORE the primary to change the GOP. But if we can't and we get Coats, then he will help take power away from Obama.

Anyone else notice the quotes on coats FB page:

"He's our best chance to win," --Rep. Mark Souder
"The ideal candidate for Hoosiers" -- Congressman Mike Pence
Obviously, those are made up quotes. Both of those guys are pro-freedom and not part of the machine. They're the best of the best and would never support an anti-liberty candidate. Oh, wait, should I have used purple?

i was a county coordinator for Pence when he first ran and have been 2 other times since, so i can honestly say i know him pretty well. and i can tell you he is a good front man. he DEFFINATELY has higher political spirations, and he is a party whore. just like his account of how his family was in the middle of the D.C. sniper situation when it was later proven they werent. Pence will say or do anything to get air time. he is now a career politician, and will kiss and bless your baby if you ask too, lol.

Unfortunatly this seems to be the future. There is a big money machine that supports leadership that kicks back to it regardless of what party affiliation. Politics has become more of a hollywood zero sum game show that entertains the masses and strokes the egos of the participants.

A classic example of the machine's power is mayor Ballard, who you would not recognize today based on his campaign against Peterson. He has become a part of the machine that everybody thought he would fight.

I don't know how we can move away from this state of affairs other than people continously voting in large numbers to remove politicans corrupted by big money, law firms, and consultants. :dunno:
