There has been a recent influx of P38s on the market at a few popular C&R retailers, anyone know where these came from? Or even what the import marks look like?

My dad got pi$$ed at gander mountain one time, they got in a shipment of p38/p1’s they advertised them in the newspaper and he made the comment “I wouldn’t mind a p/38”

So mom drove to gander told them she wanted a p38, guy said “why? The p1’s are newer and better!”…so she bought the p1 instead

There are several other retailers with them as well.

Just wondering if anyone had any information about where they came from. For example, a few years back, a big batch was released to market that were Russian captures.

These are all postwar West German made early run P1 that are marked P38, so that puts them in the 1957 to 1963 range.
