I wouldn't jump to a Glock without trying the HK VP9... its a little larger than the G19 I think but its definitely worth a look... The trigger is second to none and virtually no flip...love it... If you are in the Fort Wayne area I would let ya shoot mine...

While I agree with you that the VP9 is a sweet gun with a very nice trigger, I prefer the trigger in the Walther PPQ. Personal taste I guess...

Nope I have never had professional instruction. Just read and watch as much as possible and then head to the range to practice.

Then that would be the next place I spend money. Check out the tactics and training section here, there's some folks who do very reasonable rates for small classes or one-on-one. Coach comes to mind. You've already got good hardware, upgrade your software.

    Agreed :rockwoot:

    both thy are very nice.

The Sig P320 has an incredible trigger too, and I actually prefer it to the VP9. It also breaks down without having to pull the trigger, which could be a bonus for an inexperienced shooter.

Ill have the P320, Glock 19 and PPQ out at the range Sunday in Fort Wayne if you'd like to give them a spin.

I have yet to have the chance to fondle a p320. I ended up with a ppq and I'm loving it. I'm sure I'll get a chance to check out a p320 one of these days, and I expect it to be nice from what I've read.

It's nice that there's so many great options these days.

hopefully one of these guys that's still trying to make up their mind in the ftw area takes you up on the offer. Very nice of you :ingo:

Like seedubs1, I haven't had a chance to try the P320 yet. I really want to, but haven't had a chance to meet up with anyone yet. School and work keeps me busy. Wish I was in Fort Wayne so I could take you up on your offer! I have a G19 and a PPQ and would love to try out the P320 to see the difference, especially with those three together. Unfortunately I don't own the VP9, so I wouldn't be able to try that one at the same time. That would be one heck of a range trip, with a PPQ, G19, VP9 and P320 :):

I had the VP9 for a while, but the trigger reset a little too violently for me. The only thing I don't like about the Sig is the thickness of the grip. I have the medium and it's still a little large for my hand, and the smaller grips are backordered everywhere. I may try to sell it so I can get one in FDE next year when the grips are more available.

I'll be the voice of dissent, and say NO, nothing you are proposing makes any sense.

Selling off your M&P (or any other major brand pistol) because of the trigger is nonsense for several reasons - first, there are trigger kits for M&P and second the factory Glock trigger is hardly better, and third the trigger is one of the least important things in defensive style shooting. You didn't indicate that your purpose for this gun is to shoot stock division service pistol matches ... so why are you acting like your looking for a match pistol?

You have fallen into one of the internet gun forums MANY traps - you have let people on the internet (or your own overactive imagination) convince you that some petty quirk about your pistol means you need to sell it and switch platforms. Now you are on a quest to find a unicorn that doesn't exist.

Keep your Sig. Get a Glock. Get an SR9. Get another M&P. Its doesn't matter one little bit for any purpose other than top tier competative shooting.

My unsolicited advice to you is to redirect the energy you spend over-thinking what pistol you need to use into something more productive like making usre you have enough ammo put back, reviewing your family safety plan, or actually going out and doing some shooting.
