Or is 7.62x39 disappearing from stock everywhere? It used to be a restocking issue, but now it seems that once it's gone it's not being restocked. Is this part of the "Executive Decision" to regulate firearms? What better way to get rid of the AK47 than eliminate its ammo.

Where have you been? All types of ammo are sold out, especially "assault weapon" ammo. Even 22LR is gone...

It is definitely your imagination...and the panic-fueled buying of millions of concerned gun owners. There will be shipments coming in to fill the shelves again...if you're smart, you'll wait 2-3 months for all the insanity to pass, then you can buy it for half of what a lot of guys are paying, right now.

With a saturated market and obama's (lack of capitalization intentional) executive orders announced, I expect prices to return to normal or lower soon.

Just wait it out. So far nothing has been said about ammo or imports. It is a possibility, but I think we will have a good long while before they come under the focus of legislation. They're focusing on guns right now.
