I haven't been to the state fair in years but we are going this year. I thought I read somewhere that it's a no go for carrying. Can anyone confirm?

I believe that it is off limits. I have heard this as well. As to legalities and force of law, I am unsure. Will they only ask you to leave? Conceal carry? I'm unsure. But I've at least heard the same "no go on carry"

Just curious, why is No Carry Allowed in “Falls of the Ohio” State Park. Is there something special about this park? You can carry in other state parks right

Short asnwer is that the Army Corps of Engineers owns the park as such it is federal property.

Here is a slew of other areas in Indiana that is GFZs.
It is also illegal to carry on Army Corps of Engineers property which include Brookville Lake, Cagles Mill Lake, Cecil M. Harden Lake, J. Edward Roush Lake, Mississinewa Lake, Monroe Lake, Patoka Lake, and Salamonie Lake.[5]

It is off limits per Indiana code. Just like a school when the fair is going on.
Well, not JUST like a school. It is not a felony. You will be asked to leave, and your weapon confiscated.

Please note, though, that the Fair parking NORTH of the fairgrounds is on school property. You CANNOT leave your weapon locked in the car there. Either park in the infield, or the SOUTH parking lots. The infield is slightly more secure (not by much).

    That is IAC not IC.

Correct however if they see if they will take it.

    Another note:

This is ONLY during the State Fair.

All other times = perfectly LEGAL...though the leasors of venues can indeed set their own RULES.

Probably to protect the vendors while they rob people.

The last time I went I almost stroked out at the prices they charge. I can drive to Holiday World and spend the day for about the same money, not have to park near one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the US, and have a lot better time. If I want to see farm animals (which I don't, I've seen plenty and they all pretty much look the same) I'll go to a county fair.

Except for Super Citizens that have greater rights.
Correct all animals are created equal, some animals are more equal than others.
That is NEVER going to change.

Yes but unlike the STATE FAIR those other venues have only rules which if you break it is not a felony. You can be asked to leave and if you choose not to (during those other venuses) they you can get arrested for treaspassing.

Also not a felony to disregard the IAC restriction on carrying at the State Fair.

Me and the wife were at the fair when the concert stage blew over a couple years ago with the giant storm. It was utter chaos and I'm glad I may or may not have been armed. There were officers trying to get people herded into a building. I politely told one to F off and headed to my vehicle.

After dark, when you get back to your vehicle, outside the fairgrounds, you'll want to have it on you or close by, until you leave the Thug Zone (Inside I-465).

And what in the wide world of sports does that have to do with the OP? Other than to make you look like an internet badass of course?

Shut up ya JBT and go rescue somebody, will ya? ;) (Good job, btw). Its his God given right to be blown away sitting in his vehicle (or walking a half mile to it) instead of a sturdy building as suggested by your colleagues. :):

Sheesh. First I get accused of violating someone's right to drown and now we are talking about violating someone else's right to be caught up in a twister! I just can't win around here! :D You can lead a horse to water....
