Is there a way to exclude topic forums?

Basic question: Can I set up to always exclude certain forums, for example lets say I am only interested in Handguns and do not want to read posts on the LongGuns Forum.... I know you can select these each time you log in with a double click on the INGO logo, but is there a way to make the choices "Stick" for the next time you log in?

I have looked at the options and profile pages but have not found a solution... Suggestions?

Not that I am aware of. You'll have to get by with deselecting the individual forums each time you log in.

Couldn't you just set up a shortcut to go straight to handguns?

As Outlaw stated, your best bet is probably to just bookmark it. If you don't know how to do that, let us know which browser you are using and the version. You can usually find the version by clicking on Help - About but that also depends on the browser.
