I just saved the picture on my computer then opened it in photoshop. It's an absolute certainty that it's altered and it's a terrible job. They weren't trying to hide that it was altered. The interesting thing is that it's not just the sign with the red letters that was pasted on to the other sign, but some parts of the sign with the black letters was altered too.

Also, the guy who appears to be holding the sign, isn't. His hand has clearly been altered.

My best guess is that entire sign, both parts, has been cut into the image.

After another look, I think the altered parts of the black letter sign were to mark out whatever the sign originally said, before they put in their own slogans.

I'm not as experienced as you are with PS, but it doesn't look like a terrible job when I did that. it looks pretty good IMO, but it still looks like a job.

I'm betting that only the words and the lower portion of the sign were shopped in. the top portion of the sign itself looks legit.

If it is photo-shopped, they did a great job. The sign seems to fit the lighting in the photo.

I do not like to see anyone alter the actual photo to make someone look worse than they actually are. However, what really makes my blood pressure rise is to see illegal aliens being able to freely demonstrate and picket and make demands of the US or the states or the cities. The only rights that they should have are human rights and those include not being clubbed and beaten while they are being rounded up and deported back to wherever they originally came. Just my two cents.
