Was in the hotel lobby and a guy walks up asking if what was on my lap was an iPad. I say yes and he hands me a $25 iTunes gift card and says he is from Canada and bought it for his phone but it rejected it because it is on a Canadian plan/phone that he has I said thanks and he left.

Wanted to make sure there are no known scams or if what he is saying is true?

No scams that I'm aware of. Plug the card number in to the appstore and if its good, you'll get the credit, if it isn't you wont. Cant hurt anything even if its a fake card. Probably just one of those incredibly nice Canadians. You know, they don't even need guns up there because everyone is a saint, and they would never try to wrong one another.

Seriously though, try the card. Can't hurt anything.

Should be good to go. It's true that US cards can't be used with Canadian accounts, but he could have made a US account and redeemed it and bought stuff. His loss, your gain. I'll use it if you don't want to :D
