I'm kinda disappointed that they kinda went WOKE. It wasn't unbearably woke, but c'mon. Venezuela isn't socialist, it's a far right dictatorship in that world. And the "people's choice" is the SJW. They just had to make the premise a woke fantasy.

But, the eye rolling bull**** aside, it was still a good season.

I was done when Greer was made Muslim.

I'll skip the whole Jack Ryan thing, thanks.

I'm holding out hope for the Without Remorse movie.

    Edit...

Nevermind. Michael B Jordan as Clark?

    Without Remorse (2020)
Why completely change the story set up also? In the novel (a great read btw) his wife died in an auto accident, and it was the death of a working girl that he had grown to care for that started his quest for revenge. The dynamic with the nurse through the book is well told also. It looks like they got rid of most things that made this story good, except the name.

Interesting decision to change the religion of the main characters.

If you want to watch something closer to reality, catch a documentary.

Personally, of the 1000's of videos on the net, Jack Ryan is one worth watching from an entertainment perspective.

I always knew I wanted a movie for Without Remorse. It's my favorite Clancy novel.
I also knew, they'd never have him getting retribution over the death of a prostitute.
It would make too many in Hollywood uncomfortable, though they'd claim it was to not offend people.

    Okay, I'll ask. Why?

That's another reason to stop. Its political correctness and propaganda. The original was not a Muslim.

This entire series is all about Muslims are misunderstood good guys who just want to be happy with their wonderful families until the evil American Crusaders came along and did some screwed up crap that turned them to evil.

Im guessing you didn’t watch the entire first series. Because that was NOT the message. In fact Greer wasn’t a practicing Muslim in the first series and the bad guy Muslims were really bad. Like raping your 13 year old daughter because it’s my right bad.

I assume you mean “first season”? In which, Greer was revealed to be a Muslim. But you’re right. The bad guys in that series were Muslims, and they were portrayed as being quite bad. I think the writers/producers wanted to balance the portrayal of Muslims and show that people are bad or good, and not because of their religion, but despite it.

The writing and acting are horrible. And, Howdy Doody playing Jack Ryan is laughable.

The writing isn’t stellar, but it’s not horrible. Acting is okay considering that it’s a Amazon exclusive. It’s not like they have a Disney budget. I do agree they probably could have cast someone better to play Jack Ryan.

Greer wasn't a muslim in any of the Clancy novels.

I finished season 2 last night. Overall, enjoyed both seasons. the changes to the characters was a little irritating at first, but, wasn't a deal breaker.

I haven’t read a Jack Ryan book in several years but I don’t recall his religion being revealed at all. as the story unfolded it was not really important to the plot. So some of the reasoning may have been to virtue signal. There are reasons to include it in the streaming series other that that though. I don’t see why Muslims can’t be fans of the series too. So I can see why producers might give them a character to identify with.

    Harrison Ford
    Alec Baldwin
    Chris Pine
    Ben Affleck

The only person who hasn't played him is Jeff Bridges as Big Lebowski Ryan.
