    Thanks...its just that anyone can put info on there or change existing info. I will say that Wikipedia is a resource....but I would like to know if someone can direct me to an expert on these pistols.

    There is a difference between the Grandpa and Papa Nambu's...

    Around the turn of the century a Captain Kijiro Nambu was transferred to the Tokyo arsenal. Around 1902 he designed a semi-automatic pistol with a shoulder stock. This gun is now referred to as the Grandpa by collectors. It was soon modified slightly and became the model now known as the Papa Nambu.

    There were approximately 5 times as many Papa's made than Grandpa's and the Papa's were never made to take a shoulder stock. Both were chambered for the same 8mm round.
